Today is the first time that I have played this game since our Baby Step 2 days.  Have trouble sticking to your grocery budget or just bored and need some entertainment that doesn’t come out of the entertainment envelope?  First, I realize this is not a game for a lot of people and often this really is all of the money there is to spend on food. With that said, the next time you go grocery shopping, take only the money alloted for that trip.  For example, if you have a $600 food budget for the month and go shopping once a week, take $150 ($600/4) and leave all other envelopes and the debit card(s) at home.  You can only get that which you have enough money to pay for using the allotted cash. You’ve burned the proverbial bridges.  There’s no turning back.  In my case, I usually played with $100.  Get as much stuff as you can without going over.  Bob Barker style.  I guess you could use a calculator, but that takes some of the fun out of it.  I try to wing it in my head and keep a running total.  I round up on items ending in greater than >.50 and down on those ending in <.50. My best day was when I spent $99.80 and got two dimes back as change.
